Young entrepreneurs in St. Lucia will this Saturday get a chance to fuel their passion, share ideas and focus more intensely on their chosen business initiatives.
The occasion will be a Young Entrepreneurs forum dubbed ‘Link Up.’ It will be held at Coco Kreole Conference Room in Rodney Bay from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. this Saturday November 23, 2013.
ECFH has teamed up with one of Saint Lucia’s successful young entrepreneurs Teige La Borde of Azuk Creative Services with partners The Cell, Outsource St. Lucia and the St. Lucia Youth Business Trust in staging the youth business mixer entitled ‘Link Up’ for the second consecutive year.
Link Up is open to all young entrepreneurs who have started their own enterprise or those who are interested in pursuing entrepreneurship. Link Up aims to bring young entrepreneurs together in an interactive social environment to network with others from around St. Lucia and also to access information from a wealth of mentors and resources, including representatives of Bank of Saint Lucia and insurance counterpart EC Global.
Assistant Manager – Marketing and Customer Service – Omari Frederick said: “The ECFH Group recognizes that youth entrepreneurship and self-employment are key factors for driving sustainable growth in our economy. ECFH is committed to supporting and enabling young entrepreneurs. This allows the Group to honour its mission - to be a catalyst for development.”
This is the third consecutive year that Bank of Saint Lucia and the ECFH Group is supporting youth entrepreneurship in a substantive way, having signed on as a Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Partner in 2010. The Group, including flagship subsidiary Bank of Saint Lucia has supported and undertaken a number of initiatives designed to promote entrepreneurship among St. Lucia’s youth.
Global Entrepreneurship Week is an international initiative, which aims to introduce entrepreneurship to young people in six continents. This annual event occurs over the span of one week and includes the participation of entrepreneurial experts, policy-makers, education practitioners and politicians.
November 18th marked the official launch of Global Entrepreneurship Week in over one hundred and forty (140) countries. In 2012, over 40,000 activities were held globally with a reach of over 9 million people. GEW aims to expose people to the benefits of entrepreneurship through different activities and to motivate them to explore their own entrepreneurial ideas.
